RAMPAGE Festival Postponed Amid Coronavirus Concerns
This Friday, March 13, 2020, through Saturday, March 14, 2020, RAMPAGE was scheduled to take place in Antwerps Sportpaleis, Antwerp, Belgium. It's with a heavy heart that we must report the acclaimed drum & bass and dubstep festival has been postponed until September 18-19, 2020, due to the ongoing concerns around the coronavirus.
This news is particularly devastating for us as our cameraman and reporters were gearing up to travel long distances in order to cover this event. Like many others, hours of planning went into ensuring one's attendance - like scheduling time off work, organizing accommodations and flights, and the list can go on. Following the news, fans have flocks online to express their frustrations. It's a very sad time for all, including the organizers behind the beloved fest'. Truly, you can feel their disappointment via their official press release.
"We feel terrible it as come to this point, and that we will all have to wait another six months for the thing we have worked for all year, the event you all have been looking forward to for so long."
Despite the undeniably upsetting news, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. "Tickets for this weekend’s cancelled event will all stay valid for the next date", Rampage confirms. Furthermore, with an additional 6 months, their hardworking team will have more time to prepare other special touches and revamp the already killer lineup. It's important to note that some artists will be removed from the program due to scheduling conflicts, however, the organizers will do their best execute an exceptional festival experience that they are known to deliver.
"We are not allowed to be involved in any rogue party situation so we won’t be able to whip up something for the Soldiers in town in a local club or outdoor space. But if you decide to do so anyway, please make sure you take care of your fellow Soldiers 🙏", Rampage explains.
Update:
In light of the unfortunate occurrence, a Facebook event christened "Rampage Support Gathering" has presented itself and has given fellow Soldiers some hope. You can find the official details below.
"This is a call to action for all Rampage soldiers,
The news is out there: Rampage 2020 is no longer allowed to take place. The way this unfolded has saddened us deeply, and our earnest sympathy goes out the organisation crew behind Rampage. This is the worst-case scenario for any eventing business, there are no winners here, only losers.
We are opening Ikon on Friday March 13th & Kavka Antwerp on Saturday March 14th for all those who have been looking forward to Rampage for months. Kavka & Ikon will serve as a safe shelter for those who travelled from abroad just for this celebratory event, a temple of love for the music that has been connecting us for over a decade. Again, we do not condone any kind of illegally organised parties and would like to take this opportunity to remind everybody to keep things peaceful and friendly, as this situation is beyond anyone’s control.
Therefore, entry to the party is completely FREE for all ticketholders and we are looking for a legal way to help Rampage in order to guarantee that their story does not end here! In three days, we plan to organise an event that aims to strengthen the resolve and raise the spirits of the eventing industry in these times. We need you, to help us help Rampage. It is time to support the unique concept that Rampage has been building for the past eleven years, we are not going to lose the strongest and most passionate presence of our globally renowned indoor drum & bass and dubstep festival. Even if you can’t make it, keep in touch with the official Rampage page because they will undoubtedly have more announcements to make.
Peace and love from the Origins & Inceptionz team.
Stay tuned for more info."
