NOISIΛ Are Parting Ways After Impressive 20-Year Career
Over the past 20 years, NOISIΛ has single-handedly helped shape the drum & bass world by pushing technical and musical boundaries with the help of their ambitious high tech studio complex in Groningen. This comes as no surprise as their name is quite literally "VISION" if you flip it.
Recently, the talented trio consisting of Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger has announced that they will be parting ways after an impressive 20-year run. In a detailed statement, the group stated that staying together put their “beautifully consolidated shape” at risk. Furthermore, they are seeking different things at this point in time which would result in a "different NOISIΛ".
“WE’VE ALL GROWN, AS PEOPLE AND AS MUSICIANS. FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS, ALL THREE OF US WANTED PRETTY MUCH THE SAME, BUT WE’VE DEVELOPED, AND REALIZED THAT NOWADAYS WE WANT DIFFERENT THINGS. IF WE ALL WANTED THE SAME DIFFERENT THINGS, IT WOULD MAKE SENSE TO DO THAT AS A DIFFERENT NOISIA, BUT WE WANT DIFFERENT DIFFERENT THINGS.”
Despite the sad news, the group has disclosed that they will be going on a tour, one last time, in 2020. More details will be announced shortly - keep it locked to their official social media channels (Facebook and Twitter) for more information.
We'd like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the hardworking trio for their distinct imprint on the electronic music scene, and more importantly, on their fans' hearts. Their undeniable contribution will forever remain as a part of history in the industry.
We'll leave you with a throwback:
