Madame Tussauds New York Unveils Wax Figure in Honor of Avicii

Madame Tussauds is internationally known for displaying the waxworks of some of the most popular television and film characters from famous actors, as well as notable historical figures. Recently, the beloved company announced that Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii, will be the latest wax figure to be unveiled at their New York City location.  The 'Levels' producer will be among some elite company, joining Usher, Katy Perry, and Rihanna's sculptures.

As of Monday, October 7, 2019, you can find the effigy prominently displayed in Madame Tussaud's music room, complete with a DJ booth, mini lights, and a video board.  Tim is placed in one of his signature poses - one hand on the mixer and the other in the air getting ready to air-piano one of his countless, beautiful melodies.   Fans are able to step behind the booth and take a picture with one of EDM’s most beloved producers.

The design for this piece is very unique as they did not have a live model to take measurements from.  Usually, a team of 20 people based out of the U.K. will take around 200 measurements.  Instead, the design team had to examine several hours of footage from concerts and press photos to be able to accurately reproduce his likeness.

Tim’s parents, Klas Bergling and Anki Lidé, were a big contributor to this project.  They were able to help Tussauds' General Manager Tom Middleton ensure that the model was built in the most authentic way possible.  Middleton was quoted earlier this month, stating, “It was honestly a real pleasure working with them, they were engaged and involved every step of the way.”

In conjunction with such a special unveiling, Madame Tussauds New York is also partnering with the Tim Bergling Foundation, which was created by Berling’s loving parents. Furthermore, fans that come to experience the exhibit will be able to make a donation directly to the foundation that supports organizations that focus on mental health and suicide prevention. We can't wait to see your photos with the legend himself!
