[Breaking] Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival Will Be Postponed
Flag fam: we're saddened to report that according to multiple independent sources, including The Festive Owl - a credible source in the world of dance music, another one of the world's most highly anticipated music festivals is being postponed. The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is scheduled to take place from Friday, April 10, 2020, to Sunday, April 19, 2020. Now, it will be held on the weekends of October 9 and 16, 2020, due to the confirmed coronavirus cases in the region.
“The Riverside County Public Health Department has declared a public health emergency for the Coachella Valley after a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19) locally,” read a statement. “As a result, the 2020 BNP Paribas Open will not take place at this time due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus and the safety of the participants and attendees at the event. This is following the guidance of medical professionals, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and State of California.” -Source: Rolling Stone
Official details coming directly from the festival's organizers are scheduled to be released tomorrow, March 10, 2020. It's important to note that Coachella is not following suit after acclaimed festival's such as Ultra Abu Dhabi and Tomorrowland Winter's cancellations. Coachella is confirmed to be postponed, not cancelled in its entirety.
The coronavirus is quickly claiming more and more victims, including our beloved festivals. As a community known for our positive outlook on life, it's critical that we keep our love of life alive and stick together until the COVID-19 has been regulated. Which festival do you think will be next?
